This week’s “Embracing Faith” article will focus on Embracing Faith through Prayer.
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” -Psalm 56:3
With all the news headlines and attention surrounding the tragic Taliban takeover in Afghanistan, it is essential not to lose sight of the devastation that is presently occurring in Haiti.
On August 14th, Haiti was struck with a deadly 7.2 magnitude earthquake that killed 1,500, injured nearly 7,000, and left tens-of-thousands residents homeless as of August 16th. (1)
Even with this destruction that has left homes, churches, schools, and other buildings in rubble throughout Haiti, those who survived are bracing for more danger as Tropical Depression Grace has brought heavy rains and winds to the island. (1)
As the people of Haiti brace for Tropical Depression Grace while dealing with the fallout from the earthquake, it is important to pray for the people of Haiti.
A Prayer for the People of Haiti (2)
O gracious Creator,
God of all goodness and love,
we lift up our Haitian brothers and sisters to You in prayer.
Our hearts go out to all those who suffer from want.
Grant them Your wisdom, strength and hope
in the face of all that is occurring in their beautiful homeland.
God of mercy and justice,
assist all those volunteers
who have given so much time,
energy and resources to our Haitian neighbors.
Bless their efforts to help restore and improve their lives.
Bless the children of Haiti who seek a better world and a brighter future.
