This week's "Embracing Faith" article will focus on Embracing Faith through Community.

Every year, Jubilee Celebrations take place to honor and celebrate the milestone anniversaries of a Sister’s entrance or profession.

Milestone anniversaries of Jubilee Celebrations are Diamond Jubilees (75th or 60th anniversary), Golden Jubilees (50th anniversary), and Silver Jubilees (25th anniversary). (1)

On Sunday, June 2nd, the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York will recognize 11 Sisters at their annual Jubilee Celebration.

Sisters Molly Dower and Theresa Lynch will celebrate their 75th anniversary, while Sisters Judith Campbell, Miriam Lent, Loretta Lynch, Mary John O’Brien, and Kenneth Reddington will celebrate their 70th anniversary. Sisters Mary Theresa Dixon, Mary Eileen O’Brien, Kathleen Sullivan, and Anne Daniel Young will celebrate their 60th anniversary.

“God has blessed me with the grace of perseverance and many happy years with the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York,” said Sister Loretta Lynch.

All of these Sisters have spent their lives serving the poor and marginalized, as well as bringing compassion and mercy to those who need it most. Through their ministries, these Sisters have promoted hope, mercy, justice, and truth.

We pray that God will bless these Sisters as they celebrate this weekend.
