Sisters of Saint Dominic Selected for National Motherhouse Interview

A Nun's Life

The Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York were selected to participate in A Nun’s Life national Motherhouse Road Trip series. Each year, members from A Nun’s Life travel throughout the country to host live podcasts from different Motherhouses or congregational sites. These podcasts are live streamed (both on audio and video) over the Internet.


On March 19th at 1:30 pm EST, Sister Maxine Kollasch, podcast host of A Nun’s Life, will tape a live interview with Dominican Sisters Terry Rickard and Jennifer Schaaf. Sisters Maxine, Terry, and Jennifer, will discuss topics such as discernment, prayer, and spirituality.


Sister Terry Rickard is the President of RENEW International, a preacher, writer, retreat leader, and conference speaker.

She is the author of numerous publications, including Live Lent! Year A, B, and C, a series of small group resources published by RENEW International. She has also written Advent and Lent devotionals for The Living Gospel series by Ave Maria Press, and is a contributing author to Preaching in the Sunday Assembly and We Preach Christ Crucified published by Liturgical Press.


Before coming to RENEW, she ministered in two multi-cultural parishes in the South Bronx, was the Director of Vocation and Formation ministry for her congregation and was a member of the Archdiocese of New York Parish Mission Team.


She holds a Doctor of Ministry in Preaching from Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis, Missouri; a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in New York City; and Master of Arts in Religion and Religious Education from Fordham University, New York.

Sister Jennifer Schaaf is a native of Washington State and holds a B.A. in Music Education and a Masters in Pastoral Ministry from the University of Portland in Oregon. Before joining the Chaplaincy team at Saint Thomas More Catholic Chapel at Yale in 2013, she served in campus ministry at Ohio Dominican University where her emphasis was on liturgical music, retreats and developing alternative break programs. She also served as Director of Communications for the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York. Her focus is to engage students in shared leadership and spiritual development.
