SISTER KENNETH REDDINGTON, O.P., formerly Mary M. Reddington, a member of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt, New York for the past 70 years died on August 25, 2019 in the St. Martin de Porres Community at St. Dominic’s Convent, Blauvelt, N.Y. Sr. Kenneth was 88 years of age.
Sr. Kenneth was born to James and Ellen Gallagher Reddington in the Bronx, N.Y. and entered the Sisters of St. Dominic on September 11, 1949 from St. Luke Parish, Bronx, N.Y. She received the Dominican Habit on August 24, 1950 and professed first vows on December 8, 1951, and final vows on December 30, 1954.
Sister held a BS in Education from Fordham University, and an MS in Education from Hunter College, N.Y.
Sister Kenneth’s many years in ministry were devoted to the education of youth. She taught in the following schools: St. Dominic School Blauvelt (1952-1953); Holy Cross School, NYC (1953-1963); St. Aloysius School Livingston Manor, N.Y (1963-1968); and St. Nicholas of Tolentine Bronx, N.Y. (1968-1990) Sister also served as assistant Fiscal Officer at the Tolentine –Zeiser Community Center (1990-2005.) On returning to the Motherhouse in 2005 her ministry was that of prayer.
In addition to her religious congregation, Sr. Kenneth is survived by her niece, Christine Ryan, and grandnephew, Ronald Truax. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Ellen, her sister, Sarah and her brothers, Patrick and James.

Burial: St. Dominic’s Cemetery immediately following Mass
