Sister Ann Therese Trinidad, O.P. formerly Beatrice Geraldine Trinidad, a member of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt, New York for the past 61 years died on May 24, 2014 in St. Martin de Porres Community. Sister Ann Therese was 82 years of age.
Sister Ann Therese was born to Angeles Castro Trinidad and Adolph Trinidad on November 1, 1931 in Ohio. She entered the Sisters of St. Dominic on January 31; 1954 from St. Ann Parish, Bronx, NY. Sister received the Dominican habit on September 6, 1954, professed her first vows on September 7, 1955 and her final vows on September 3, 1958.
She received the BA in Psychology from College of New Rochelle, the BA in Liturgical Music, from St. Joseph College Rensselaer, Ind. and the MA from St. Joseph College, CT
Sister's many years of ministry were dedicated to the education of youth. She taught in the following schools; St. Dominic, Blauvelt 1954-60; Holy Spirit, Bronx, 1960-67; Our Saviour, Bronx, 1967-69; Our lady of the Rosary, Yonkers, teacher, principal, 1970-85; St. Mary, Closter, NJ, teacher, 1986-81; Assumption School, Emerson, NJ, Principal, 1987-2007.
Sister was pastoral minister to the sick at St. Joseph Church, Bronxville, NY 1985-86 and pastoral minister at Pascack Hospital, Emerson, NJ.
Sister retired to St. Dominic Convent, September 2012.
In addition to her religious congregation, Sr. Ann Therese is survived by her brother Al Trinidad, nephew, John Trinidad, cousin Irene Hutton and many grand nieces and nephews.
