After nearly two years of virtual events, the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York, are pleased to share that they will be hosting the 2022 Hearts Afire Gala on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at noon, at the View in the Hudson in Piermont, New York.
Marking the 21st year of our Hearts Afire Gala, this year’s celebration will indeed be a special one as the Sisters of Saint Dominic will present the Mother Mary Ann Sammon Award for Compassion and Service to Jerry Haas and Peter McKeever.
“Each year, the Hearts Afire Gala honors individuals who have demonstrated a spirit of service, compassion, and deep caring for others,” shared Kerrin Kissel, the Director of Development for the Sisters of Saint Dominic. “It is an honor to recognize long-time generous friends of the Sisters, Jerry Haas, and Peter McKeever.”
Along with the Mother Mary Ann Sammon Award presentation, another highlight of the Hearts Afire Gala will be the annual Silent Auction and 50/50 Raffle. Please note that bidding on Silent Auction items will open prior to the Gala and will be announced closer to the Gala date.
The Hearts Afire Gala is one of the most important fundraisers of the Sisters of Saint Dominic every year. Supporting the Hearts Afire Gala by attending the event or with a sponsorship, journal ad, or donation makes it possible for the Sisters of Saint Dominic to minister to those who are most in need, as well as care for the aging sisters in our community.
