Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen.
(Hebrews 11:1)
Faith, at its root, is a belief in something unseen. This involves trust which surpasses seen evidence or understanding the “why” of life events. Faith involves trust in a benevolent God who knows and understands what is best for His children. It is active, requiring surrender on our part for His purpose. Faith helps us navigate the challenges we face. Resilience, hope, and joy can be the result of obedience and humility. Humility is the belief that God is smart and knows what we don’t.
Yet faith is not without its troubles and is deeply personal; still it can connect us to grace, love, hope, joy, and sacrifice. Transformation, at its core, is a byproducts for all who take the leap out of the boat. In life, we may experience a crisis of faith. Our prayers are not answered, healing does not occur, or our dreams are shattered. Questions remain unanswered. Yet often, these are opportunities for growth, reminding us that growth can emerge from suffering–even long suffering. No matter how dark the night, joy will come in the morning. Hope is the foundation of trust.
The Christian faith is a journey–a reflection of how we see the world and each other. It is rooted in the belief that God, through Jesus, entered the world to redeem what was lost and broken, and to restore all who were separated from God.
Living out the Christian life can be challenging in a world that often runs contrary to Christ’s teachings. It requires justice, mercy, love, forgiveness, and humility. We are here to serve, not to be served. By practicing these core beliefs, we are being shaped into the image of Jesus.
The message of faith gives up hope in the truth that we are loved, known, accepted, and never alone. God is always by our side. God loves us and has equipped us with everything we need to win.
It doesn’t matter how large the odds are against you. It doesn’t even matter how you “feel” at the moment. You are destined to win. Trust in God, who only wants the best for every child. God is love, and love always wins.
