MLK Day is looked at as a day off from school or work for some, a day to pay tributes to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for others, and a day of opportunity for all.

Since 1994, MLK Day has been recognized as a national day of service. (1) Each year, Americans throughout the country have engaged in service projects in their local communities.
In Rockland County, there are many MLK Day of Service opportunities that take place each year. This year, Dominican College is hosting Volunteer New York and local nonprofit organizations to provide MLK Day of Service opportunities for those who are interested in volunteering. Listed below are the organizations participating in the event, as well as the service opportunities.
